Editorial policy

Where our money comes from, and how we keep it from shaping our rulings.

Editorial independence

Our editorial team — the people listed on authors — has final say on every ruling, guide, and broker ranking. No advertiser, partner broker, or sponsor has review rights, veto power, or input on what we publish.

Affiliate revenue

We earn commissions when readers open an account through certain broker links on this site, at no extra cost to the reader. Affiliate revenue funds the site and lets us keep the content free.

  • Commission rates do not affect broker rankings.
  • We do not accept paid reviews or paid rankings.
  • Affiliate links are disclosed on every page that contains one.
  • Brokers that fail our Shariah or safety checks are excluded, even if they offer higher commissions.

Sponsored content

We do not publish sponsored articles, paid guest posts, or paid fatwa placements. If we ever did, it would be labelled "Sponsored" at the top of the page in the same size as the headline.

AI assistance

We use AI tools to draft outlines, check grammar, and stress-test arguments. Every ruling, broker review, and guide is then written, edited, and signed off by the named editorial team. We do not publish AI-generated rulings without human review.

Corrections

We make mistakes. When we find one — or when a reader points one out — we fix the page, log the change on our corrections page, and update the "last reviewed" date. Material errors are flagged at the top of the affected page.

What we will not do

  • Publish a positive review of a broker that fails our Shariah or safety checks, regardless of commission.
  • Issue personal fatwas. We summarise scholarly positions; we don't replace your scholar.
  • Give individualised financial advice. We don't know your circumstances; only you and a regulated adviser do.
